A child forming in a mother’s womb is one of the most wondrous experiences that nature can present to us. Birthing and raising a child takes heart, determination and strength. Welcoming all feelings that we encounter, good or bad, whether they are fear, excitement, sadness, happiness, anticipation and weakness is key during the gestation period and thereafter. Addressing these thoughts allows us to overcome unwanted apprehension and release it. Trust in your ability and do not lose sight of how special this time is, whether you are parenting a child or pregnant.
Take a moment to think of a unique strength that you are proud of. Take five minutes out of your day and take a deep breath in and as you blow out focus on the strength you chose and say it. I am kind, I am loving, I am strong, etc. If you find yourself saying variations of your strength(s), go with it, but do not over think this exercise. Stay calm and focused. Once you have done your mantra for five minutes, move on and continue on with your day. Do this once a day and you will see how putting your strengths into words helps guide you throughout the day and reminds you of what you are capable of.
