Life Lessons

Each difficult lesson we learn in life is an essential gift. Even though we are creatures of modeling and habit, we all have endless potential and an innate ability to become who we were truly meant to be. Do not give up. We can always become unstuck and make things right. We owe it to our children and to ourselves.

If you weren’t taught, teach
If you weren’t heard, listen
If you were suffocated, breathe
If you were taught to fear, be brave
If you were taught to conform, stand out
If you were surrounded by dark, be bright
If you were held back, forge ahead
If you were rejected, embrace
If you were told you were small, grow.

And do not stop growing.

  1. Hello, these are nice words and good reminders. It is easy to see adversity as failure or as a reason to give up. We all have days where we just want to throw in the towel. It is good to remember that we learn and grow from tough things.

  2. Thank you. Hoping your day is bright!

  3. This is beautiful. Very wise words. Pinning!

  4. Thank you Yanique and for sharing.

  5. OMG Kimberly,

I loved the site but especially Life Lessons.

I do not have children and come from a dysfunctional family and I had chills reading each line....you go girl!!!

    Have fun with your blog.

  6. It makes me so happy that you made your way to this site and found you could connect through mutual experiences regardless of having children or not. Thanks for checking it out and I hope you visit again soon.

    Lots of love,
